Jacob's Ladder
This is one of my spark boxes. This one is made with a neon sign transformer that puts out 12,000 volts. The rods on this one are made from straightened coat hangers. Spark boxes may also be made with old furnace transformers, although the voltage is less, so the rods may have to be closer together.
DON'T TRY TO MAKE ONE OF THESE YOURSELF UNLESS YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH AND
QUALIFIED TO USE HIGH VOLTAGES. A SHOCK FROM ONE OF THESE HAS THE POTENTIAL
TO BE FATAL.
